Dual Career Assistance
Utah State University recognizes that the number of faculty who have professional partners also seeking employment is clearly on the rise. Thus, it has become necessary to include dual employment in the hiring process in order to be competitive in faculty recruitment and retention. While in a few cases an open position can be filled by the partner, sometimes a new position must be created to accommodate their qualifications and occupational interest. In this case, funding from the recruiting department and college, the accommodating unit (academic or administrative), and the Provost's Office is often necessary for establishing such a position. Guidelines outlining the university's commitment to dual career assistance are currently being developed by the Provost's Office.
