Appointment of Promotion and Tenure committee for new faculty within six (6) months after start date, but no later than October 24, 2008

Committee recommendation to Department Head

  • First year and all other years except third year: November 28, 2008
  • Third Year: October 24, 2008

Department Head recommendation to Dean

  • First year and all other years except third year: December 18, 2008
  • Third Year: November 10, 2008

Dean recommendation to Provost

  • First year and all other years except third year, if satisfactory progress is being made: No date required
  • Third Year: November 20, 2008

If termination, President's notification to candidate

  • First and second years except third year: February 27, 2009
  • Third Year: December 10, 2008
  • Fourth and Fifth Years: January 29, 2009

Dates for Faculty Who ARE Being Reviewed for Promotion and Tenure to Associate Professor

  • Solicitation of review letters: September 15, 2008
  • Committee's recommendation to Department Head: November 28, 2008
  • Department Head's recommendation to Dean: December 15, 2008
  • Dean's recommendation to Provost: January 9, 2009
  • President's recommendation for promotion and tenure: Prior to April 2009 Trustees Meeting
  • President's notification of denial of tenure to candidate: April 15, 2009

Dates for Faculty Who ARE Being Reviewed for Promotion to Professor during 2008-2009

  • Appointment of Promotion Committee - 405.6.2(2) February 16, 2008 (during 2009-2010 academic year)
  • Solicitation of review letters: September 15, 2008
  • Committee's recommendation to Department Head: Novemer 28, 2008
  • Department Head's recommendation to Dean: December 15, 2008
  • Dean's recommendation to Provost: January 9, 2009
  • President's recommendation for promotion: Prior to April 2009 Trustees Meeting
  • President's notification of denial of promotion: April 15, 2009

Dates for Faculty Who WISH to Be Considered for Promotion to Professor during 2009-2010 Academic Year
