From the President
The three pronged mission of Utah State University has been and remains Teaching, Research and Service. These three words describe who we are and what we do, but they do not describe the depth and breadth of the programs or the strength and energy of the students that are Utah State University.
Utah State University is a place of Access, Opportunity and Excellence, whether that occurs in our teaching mission, our research mission, or our service mission. Our challenge is to create a learning opportunity for each of our students so that they may change, adapt, and thrive as they mold the future. Access opens the campuses, the classrooms, and the laboratories to those students who come to seek and learn. Whether the keys to success are the close interaction with professors and mentors, the scholarship that recognizes and rewards the ambitious student, or the memorable places where the finest music, lively discussion or a quiet introspective walk occur, Utah State University empowers through example and opportunity.
Excellence is both a personal goal and an institutional imperative. USU is a campus environment that is open, professional and committed to the highest goals of education. We seek to recognize and reward talent and drive, both in our faculty and in our students.

Throughout the first portion of the Campaign for Utah State University, we have, time and again, met alumni who are passionate about the role of the university in their lives and in their success. The superior education they received, in combination with the committed faculty they had as teachers and mentors, changed their lives. They feel so strongly that they are passionate about and generous in their support of Utah State University's future. Because of their passion, we have constructed buildings, named colleges, and established endowments that will fuel the future. They are so committed to Utah State that, with their encouragement, we are extending this campaign and increasing the goal.
We now ask each of you to be a part of the exciting future of Utah State University. The second phase of this campaign will capitalize on building an endowment that will sustain growth and stability for our students and enhance critical programs. A university is a complex combination of research centers and colleges with one goal in mind: enhancing the future through excellence in education.
