Course Descriptions
To view or print these files, you must first download AND install the Free Acrobat Reader on your computer!
Each course description in the online catalog includes course prefix, course number, title, University Studies designation (if any), credits, description of course content, prerequisites (if any), and semester(s) taught (if determined). You can locate course descriptions by selecting a specific course prefix or by referencing a subject area. To access course descriptions:
- From the list of letters, click on the letter corresponding to the first letter of a course prefix orthe first letter of a subject area (e.g., “B” for BIOL — Biology courses; “M” for Marketing courses, included within BA — Business Administration).
- A list of course prefixes and subject areas beginning with the letter you selected will appear. Click on the desired prefix.
- A PDF file showing course descriptions for your selected course prefix will appear. This file can be navigated in Acrobat Reader by:
- using the scroll bar on the right, which will display the pages as you scroll with the mouse
- clicking on the “Next Page” or “Previous Page” arrows at the top of each page.
- searching the selected section. Enter any string of text in the “find” box to find the text in the section.
- To view another selection, click on the “Back” button at the top of your Web browser to return to the list of sections. If you want to view a prefix or subject area beginning with a different letter, click on the new letter, then click on the desired prefix.
Linking to Departmental Catalog Sections
At the beginning of each course description PDF file, you will see text identifying the
department which administers courses having the specified prefix. For example, below the
Spanish (SPAN) heading at the top of the SPAN courses, is the text, “See Department of
Languages, Philosophy, and Speech Communication, click here.” To view the descriptive text for
the specified department, move the cursor to the underlined “click here” text. Left click when the cursor changes to a hand containing a W. The PDF file for the text describing the programs and
requirements of the specified department will then appear on your screen.
